Toby Dominates Invitational Super Fights, With Belt Promotions.

Over the past couple of weeks, Toby has stepped up to the challenge in two high-level invitational super fights. His first match took place in Liverpool at Young Subs, where he competed in the 70kg NoGi division. In a hard-fought battle, Toby secured the win via decision, having the greater number of submission attempts. This victory marked his third win in the series against a tough blue belt opponent.

Between his two competitions, Toby celebrated a major milestone—his 16th birthday. The celebrations didn’t stop there, as on Saturday, he was awarded his blue belt by Nam in recognition of his dedication and skill.

Wasting no time, Toby entered his second invitational match the very next day in Middlesbrough for Sub Fifteen. This was his first competition as a blue belt, and he made a statement by securing a submission victory in under two minutes with a straight foot lock.

Toby wasn’t the only one to receive well-deserved promotions. Ben Cole also earned his blue belt after turning 16. Having trained for nearly nine years, Ben has been a dedicated practitioner and an excellent training partner for Toby, bringing out the best in each other.

Adding to the list of achievements, Ben’s father, Andy Cole, was promoted to purple belt, while Mikey reached the pinnacle of the sport by earning his black belt. Mikey’s promotion comes after a tough couple of weeks outside the gym, making this milestone even more meaningful.

Additionally, Yusef received his first stripe on his white belt, marking the beginning of his own journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
